Elon Musk said, "This is deeply wrong" to the whole situation. On May 14, Illya Sutskever left OpenAI and started his own firm, Safe Superintelligence Inc (SSI). Mira Murati, who was with the company for 6.5 years, left it, and company president Greg Brockman announced taking a sabbatical leave at the end of the year. Along with OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, the company's Chief Research Officer Bob McCrew and VP of Research Barret Zolph also submitted their resignation. However, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said they all left the companies for separate reasons.
