Bharti Airtel made an official statement denying the reports that said its customer data was compromised. The telecom company further stated, "This is nothing short of a desperate attempt to tarnish Airtel's reputation by vested interests." Airtel said that after conducting a thorough investigation, it found out that there was no such data breach in its systems. According to a report by Moneycontrol, unverified reports suggested that around 375 million customers' data was leaked online and was open for sale on the dark web. Moneycontrol further said that the threat actor was identified as "xenZen", who reportedly listed a database on the dark web for sale and sought USD 50,000.
