Nothing CEO Carl Pei claimed that a scammer generated a voice that sounded just like him using artificial intelligence and sent it to the users asking money for an urgent project. The Nothing CEO said that the scammer used WhatsApp to circulate his AI-generated voice and tried to trap the users to wire money. However, Carl Pei said the scam was prevented as the company's payment processes caught this as designed.
