Vinesh Phogat made a promise to her family members that she would win the gold medal after she qualified for the final of the women's wrestling 50 kg event at the Paris Olympics 2024 on August 6. The star grappler has been absolutely unstoppable at the Paris Olympics 2024 and now has become the first Indian woman to enter a wrestling final at the Olympic Games. Phogat has picked up big wins, one of which included a victory over Tokyo gold medallist Yui Susaki in the round of 16.
