Just ahead of the women's 50kg freestyle wrestling final at the Paris Olympics 2024, Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has been disqualified due to being overweight and will miss an Olympic medal. Vinesh assured an Olympic medal for India after defeating her Cuban opponent on Tuesday. Phogat was roughly 100 grams over the permissible limits which led to her disqualification. If such happens, Vinesh is not eligible for a silver medal and the gold medal will be directly given to her American opponent Sarah Hildebrandt. The official confirmation regarding the matter has come and a statement was released by Indian Olympic Association. Paris Olympics 2024: Cole Hocker Pulls Olympic Shocker in Men's 1,500 M, Leaving Josh Kerr and Jakob Ingebrigtsen Behind.
