Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian female wrestler to reach the final of the Olympic Games events. But her dream of winning a medal was crushed with the ‘disqualification’ news. She was found overweight by 150 grams following which she was disqualified from the final and will not be awarded any medal. Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Sanjay Singh informed that the reasons behind disqualifications will be found. He also mentioned that Vinesh Phogat’s nutritionist and her coach are answerable to the ‘overweight’ situation. He also said, “WFI is looking after the legal procedure. PT Usha has reached the games village, we will have a discussion and decide how to protest against IOC and UWW”.
