Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat's plea for a joint silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 was rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Vinesh was disqualified from the Paris Olympic Games 2024 as she was 100 grams overweight. Phogat made it to the final of the women's 50 Kg wrestling freestyle category and had ensured a medal for herself. However, just ahead of her final bout, she was found 100 grams overweight and as per the rules, she was disqualified due to which she was not even entitled to win a medal. Vinesh Phogat has now come up with her first statement after the disappointing incident. Vinesh Phogat also thanked all the support staff such Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, Tajinder Kaur, Gagan Narang and everyone who was involved in her wrestling journey.
