Bopanna and Ebden started the match in a sensational fashion and won the first set 6-2. But the duo failed to sustain the momentum and lost the following sets 3-6 4-6. Though Bopanna was not able to etch history, he won a lot of hearts with his act of sportsmanship. During Edben's serve in the final set, the ball brushed Bopanna's right arm. However, the referee did not see it and awarded the point to the Australian-Indian duo. But Bopanna showed incredible gamesmanship and told the referee to give the point to the opposition as the ball clipped his arm. The tennis fraternity is hailing the 43-year-old for his honesty.
