The Spaniard, also popularly called as, "The King of Clay" was eliminated in the first round with a defeat to Alexander Zverev. Rafael Nadal, after the match, also stated that he did not know if it was his last appearance in the competition.
Rafael Nadal was knocked out of the French Open 2024 after he suffered a first-round defeat at the hands of Alexander Zverev. Nadal, who had won the French Open back in 2022, was making a return to the competition which he has won a record 14 times. The Spaniard was outclassed by Zverev 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-3 in the first round.
