Peng Shuai Missing Case: International Olympic Committee Reportedly ‘Relieved’ After 30-Minute Video Call With Chinese Tennis Star

Peng Shuai had reportedly gone missing after she revealed in a deleted social media post of her being sexually assaulted by former Chinese vice-premier Zhang Gaoli. The international tennis community had raised an outcry demanding to know about her whereabouts in the past few days.

The International Olympic Committee on Sunday, reportedly held a 30-minute video call with Peng Shuai, the Chinese tennis star who had mysteriously disappeared after she accused former vice-premier Zhang Gaoli of rape and sexual assault. The video call with Peng Shuai was attended by IOC president Thomas Bach, IOC Athletes' Commission Emma Terho and Li Lingwei, IOC's member in China.
