Defending champion Novak Djokovic is enjoying his tennis at the French Open 2024 and honoured a rally win with a ’plane celebration’. The master gameplay also drew applause from the opponent.
Novak Djokovic again had to play out a five-setter to overcome his opponent at Rolland Garros 2024. World Number 1 won the fourth-round match against Francisco Cerundolo with a 6-1, 5-7,3-6, 7-5, 6-3 scoreline. Experienced Djokovic held on to his nerves and played some master strokes late into the match. In the seventh game of the fifth set, Djokovic put the ball beyond the reach of Cerundolo with a powerful baseline forehand, yet the Argentine stretched to make an unbelievable return. Shocked Djokovic also didn’t let go of the point and replied to Francisco Cerundolo’s drop shot with a masterful cross-cut shot winning the point. The five-shot rally though was applauded by the spectators and even Cerundolo saluted the Serbian star’s play, while Novak was seen doing a plane celebration while he was still on the ground.
