The 17-year-old was superb in the round of 16 but lost the match by just one point. Sheetal Devi had earlier broken the world record in compound archery along with Rakesh Kumar.

Sheetal Devi's run in the Women's Individual Compound Open para-archery event at Paris Paralympics 2024 after losing to Chile's Mariana Zuniga in the round of 16 stage on Saturday, August 31. The Indian para-archer put up an incredible performance but fell short by just one point, with the eventual score reading 137-138 in favour of the Chilean. The 17-year-old had earlier smashed the world record in the ranking round, which was then bettered by Oznur Cure. Sheetal Devi will be in action in the mixed compound open archery event alongside Rakesh Kumar.
