Scott Bloomquist Dies: Dirt Racing Icon Passes Away in Plane Crash at Age 60

A renowned late model dirt racer Scott Bloomquist died in a vintage plane crash near his home in Mooresburg, Tenn. He was 60 years old.

In a tragic plane accident, legendary dirt racer Scott Bloomquist lost his life. His single-engine Piper J-3C-65 crashed into a barn at his family farm and he was the lone rider on the plane as per the local authorities reports. The star racer had a storied career placing him at the eighth position on the all-time wins list with the World of Outlaws Late Models. His last victory was at Thunder Mountain Speedway in 2020.
