The Manipur athlete spoke about the situation in her home state with the place being subject to violence with a lot of lives lost since May this year. Roshibina Devi earlier made history by becoming only the second Indian after Wangkhem Sandhyarani Devi to qualify for wushu final at Asian Games.

Roshibina Devi Naorem broke down while speaking about the situation in her home state of Manipur after winning the silver medal in the women's 60kg wushu event at the Asian Games 2023 on September 28. Hailing from the Kwasiphai Mayai Leikai village in Bishnupur district, Roshibina won India her first medal in Wushu in this edition of the Asian Games 2023 after becoming the only second Indian to enter the final in this discipline at the Asian Games. She has not seen her family since May, as reported by sports journalist Aashin Prasad and it was only natural for her to remember them in one of the most important moments of her career.
