During the Men's High Jump T47 event, Nishad Kumar came up with three back-to-back failed attempts after which the Indian para-athlete broke down in tears and USA's Roderick Townsend Roberts came up to console Nishad Kumar. Roderick Townsend Roberts won the gold medal with a 2.12m attempt. Nishad Kumar bagged a silver medal at the Paris Paralympics 2024 with an attempt of 2.04m.
