Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Avani Lekhara over a phone call after she won the gold medal in the Women's 10m Air Rifle SH1 event at the Paris Paralympics 2024 on August 31. The para-shooter scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to win two gold medals at the Paralympic Games and did so by registering a record score of 249.7 in the final, which is a Paralympic record. Modi, as he did with other Indian medal winners at the Paris Olympics 2024, lauded Avani over a phone call. The para-shooter, in the video, was seen recalling Modi's advice where the Indian PM had said, "Bojh leke nahi jaana hai," (Don't carry any burden with you).
