China's Wang Chuqin's bat got broken during the men's doubles final in the table tennis event at the Paris Olympics 2024. Chuqin lost to Sweden's Truls Möregårdh in the round three of the men's singles as he had to play with a substitute bat.

China has emerged to be a major superpower in table tennis and has won the most medals in the event at the Paris Olympics 2024. Wang Chuqin won a gold medal along with his partner Sun Yingsha and defeated North Korea in the final of mixed doubles event. However, Chuqin had to suffer heartbreak when his bat got broken by photographers during the mixed doubles gold medal match and had to play with a substitute bat in the men's singles round of 32.
