Sheetal Devi, following her success in Paris, presented an autographed jersey to Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon her return to the country. The 17-year-old armless archer had a memorable time in Paris where she won the bronze medal alongside Rakesh Kumar in the mixed team compound event. With that, she also became the youngest Indian to win a Paralympic Games medal, at just 17 years of age. In a video which has gone viral, Sheetal Devi was seen signing an autographed jersey for PM Narendra Modi with her foot and the latter acknowledged the gift by placing his hand on her head. India returned with 29 medals, the most in the nation's history in a single edition of the Paralympic Games. The Indian Prime Minister met the Paralympics contingent on September 12.
