The Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony has faced backlash for a segment that some claimed mocked Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper. Drag queen Nicky Doll, one of the torchbearers, addressed the criticism via Instagram Stories, clarifying that the image in question was meant to represent the feast of Dionysus, not The Last Supper. Despite the uproar, Doll expressed honour at participating in the event. Nicky made it very clear that 'It was my absolute honour to perform in front of billions of people around the world and celebrate our Olympians. And remember, to the ones that had their feathers ruffled seeing queerness on their screen: 'WE AIN’T GOING NOWHERE' despite of the backlash. The controversial performance featured drag queens, a transgender model, and a naked singer styled as Dionysus, leading to mixed reactions from netizens. Paris Olympics 2024: French Dancer Germain Louvet Allegedly Flashes Testicles During Performance (Watch Video & Pics).
