The star javelin thrower, who is also the reigning Olympic and world champion, did not have that great a time in the Diamond League final but bounced back, defending his title. With this, India's medal tally touched 80.
Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal while his compatriot Kishore Jena won silver in the men's javelin throw event at the Asian Games 2023. Chopra achieved this feat with a throw of 88.88m in Hangzhou on October 4. The reigning Olympic champion's first throw was ruled out after a technical error meant that effort was not counted.
