It was a moment of pride for all Indians as Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal and compatriot Kishore Jena bagged silver in the men's javelin throw event at the Asian Games 2023 on October 4. Neeraj had to retake his first attempt and eventually registered a season's best effort of 88.88m, which saw him take home the gold as well as defend his Asian Games title. Jena, who was impressive as well, won the silver with a throw of 86.77m. As is the custom, the winners are invited to the podium and with India winning gold, Neeraj and Kishore sang the national anthem during the medal ceremony, the video of which has become viral.
