Neeraj Chopra created history once again! The ace javelin thrower won the first-ever gold medal by an Indian at the World Athletics Championships with a sensational 88.17m in the men's javelin throw event in Budapest. The Tokyo Olympics champion won the gold medal with Pakistan's javelin throw star Arshad Nadeem winning the silver with a massive throw of 87.82m.  India's two other athletes in this final---Kishore Jena and DP Manu, finished fifth and sixth respectively. Previously, Anju Bobby George had become the first Indian to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships when she bagged bronze in the long jump in the 2003 edition. Chopra last year clinched the silver medal in the last edition of the World Athletics Championships.
