The ace javelin thrower dictated proceedings in the competition and regained the lead with what his third attempt, a throw of 85.97m. That eventually proved to be enough for Chopra to win the gold medal in Turku, Finland and gain a massive boost to his preparations for the Paris Olympics 2024. Finland's Toni Keranen finished in second place behind Chopra with a throw of 84.19m, which was his personal best.
