In the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, India registered its best-ever medal tally in the summer Paralympic Games with 19 medals. Improving on that performance, India already has 15 medals so far in the Paris Paralympics and with many more medal events coming up, the country could surpass the tally. A major boost to the tally was seen on Monday, September 2 when India’s para-athletes collected eight medals. It was the most productive day for the country with Sumit Antil and Nitesh Kumar winning gold medals in their respective sports. In other events; Suhas Yathiraj, Thulasimathi Murugesan, and Yogesh Kathuniya bagged silver medals while Nithya Sre Sivan, Manisha Ramadass, and Sheetal Devi-Rakesh Kumar pair won bronze medals.
