Manu Bhaker etched her name in history by becoming the first Indian female to reach the final of a shooting event at the Olympic Games as she qualified in the Women's 10m Air Pistol event at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Saturday, July 27. The 22-year-old joins Suma Shirur who had achieved a similar feat at Athens 2004. Bhaker was superb in the qualification round, scoring 580 to book a place in the final. She is also the first Indian shooter at the Paris Olympics 2024 to go through the final of an event after the nation's underwhelming show in mixed team and men's events.
