Lovlina Borgohain had to settle for a silver medal after losing the women's 75kg boxing final to China's Li Qian. The pugilist lost to her Chinese opponent 0:5 in the summit showdown. She nonetheless bagged the silver medal in this event, adding to India's growing medal tally. This medal was also India's 74th medal overall. Borgohain had earlier bagged a spot in the Paris Olympics 2024 as well.
