Such a display was put forward by Bhutan's only female athlete Kinzang Lhamo when he ran in the Women's marathon in the Paris Olympics 2024. Despite her struggles due to the heat and challenging course, she finished the race. Ninety minutes after Sifan Hassan broke the Olympic record, Lhamo finished her race, inspired by the cheers from the crowd who pushed her throughout.
