Kanta Prasad's Story: Long Distance Runner, Who Works at Fruit Juice Stall in Delhi After Fleeing Home to Escape Marriage

The long-distance runner works hard at a fruit stall outside the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium while harbouring dreams of making it to the biggest level. Kanta Prasad is one of several other athletes who do other jobs to keep their sporting aspirations alive.

The life of an athlete involves a lot of struggle, not just on the field but off it as well. Several budding athletes need to struggle every day for survival and against their and one of them is Kanta Prasad, a long-distance runner. According to a report in The Indian Express, Prasad had bagged two medals in long-distance running last year at the Delhi state meet, and his story has been of a lot of struggle. Hailing from the Hamirpur district, Prasad left his home in 2017 to escape being forcefully married. He then spent a few years working as an office boy in Ghaziabad before moving to Delhi. Prasad now works at a fruit juice stall in Delhi near gate 1 of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
