Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale scripted a historic moment for India, by winning the nation's 71st medal in Asian Games 2023 on October 4. The duo bagged the gold medal in the archery mixed team compound event in Hangzhou, a medal which saw India's tally rise to 71, the highest the nation has ever achieved in a single edition of the Asian Games. Before this, India's highest medal tally at the Asian Games was 70, which was achieved in 2018.
