NBA Hall of Famers and champion Jerry West passes away at the age of 86. The legendary star passed away peacefully on Wednesday (June 12) morning with his wife, Karen, by his side. The former Lakers star was the third player in NBA history to reach 25,000 points. He made it to the 14 All-Star teams and led the Lakers NBA Finals nine times. 1972 NBA champion was also a member of the NBA’s 75th anniversary team. The star was seen as an inspiration for the NBA Logo. He joined the Los Angeles Clippers as an adviser. The franchise made the announcement of his demise. The NBA is planning a pregame tribute to West before Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks.
