The International Olympic Committee (IOC) suspended the Russian Olympic Committee on Thursday for violating the Olympic Charter by integrating sports organisations in four eastern Ukrainian districts. The action taken by the Russian Olympic Committee on October 5th, according to IOC spokesman Mark Adams, breached the geographical integrity of the Ukrainian Olympic Organisation. According to Adams, neutral Russian competitors' chances of competing in the Olympics in Paris next year are unaffected by the suspension as yet.
