Indian track and field athlete Parvej Khan continued his exploits in the USA as he qualified for the final of the 800m and 1500m events at the SEC Championships 2024. The 19-year-old, who hails from Mewat in Haryana, Khan clocked 1:48:23 secs and 3:44:98 in the 800m and 1500m qualifying events to make his place in the finals (which will be held on May 12) in both these categories at the American collegiate circuit competition. A video of him running in the 1500m qualifying race is going viral on social media when Khan is seen eclipsing the other athletes without much difficulty. Khan represents the Gators from Florida at the NCAA Championships. It is to be noted that he is the first track athlete at the NCAA Championships and an addition to the list of other Indian athletes like Tejaswin Shankar (high jump) and Vikas Gowda (discus throw) to compete at the American Collegiate circuit.
