Punjab Government To Give INR 1 Crore to Each Player From State Who Won Bronze Medal With Indian Men’s Hockey Team at Paris Olympics 2024, Announces CM Bhagwant Mann

The Indian men's hockey team produced a sensational performance to defeat Spain and win the bronze medal on offer. This was the first time since 1972 that the Indian hockey team have won back-to-back medals at the Olympic Games.

The Punjab government will award a sum of Rs 1 crore to every player from the state who won the bronze medal with the Indian men's hockey team at Paris Olympics 2024. The Indian men's hockey team rode on a brace from captain Harmanpreet Singh to defeat Spain 2-1 and clinch the podium finish at Paris Olympics 2024. This was the second consecutive time at the Olympics that the men's hockey team have won a bronze. In a post on 'X', Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann wrote, "As per our sports policy we will give ₹1 crore for each bronze medal players of Punjab."
