In their first knock-out game of the Paris Olympics 2024, the India National Hockey Team faced many challenges against the Great Britain National Hockey Team. The Indian side was down to 10-man early into the game after Amit Rohidas received a red card for stick in William Calnan's face. Manpreet Singh opened the scoring for India with a sublime finish from a penalty corner in the 27th minute, but Lee Morton equalised for Great Britain before halftime putting pressure on India. Defending without a main defender, the Indian side held on to the draw until the end of the fourth quarter. In the shoot-out experienced Sreejesh stood tall and saved two shots from England's attackers handing India an impressive win. For India, Rajkumar Pal, Sukhjeet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh and Lalit Upadhyay scored for the Indian side.
