The Indian men's hockey team lost to Germany 2-3 in the Paris Olympics 2024 semifinal on August 6, Tuesday. Harmanpreet Singh gave India the lead in the first quarter with a goal in the seventh minute, but Germany bounced back subsequently to lead the scoreline 2-1 at half-time with goals from Gonzalo Peillat and Christopher Ruehr. Sukhjeet Singh then helped India levelled the score in the third quarter but Germany once again regained the lead in this contest when Marco Miltkau scored with not much time left on the clock. India tried to equalise but, despite their best effort, weren't able to, losing the match 2-3. India will now play for the bronze medal when they face Spain.
