India men's hockey defeat suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss to Germany in the first match of the Hockey Test series at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. India eyed to get a revenge of the Paris Olympics semifinal but it didn't turn as expected with Germany establishing their supremacy in terms of skill land preparation. India started the first quarter positively but Germany scored from their first attack. India continued the pressure with consecutive penalty corners but couldn't score from either of them. Harmanpreet Singh failed to convert even a penalty stroke as it got saved. Germany eventually took the control of the game back and scored another goal extending their lead. Despite multiple attempts India couldn't get even a single goal. They will look to equalise the series by winning the second match on October 24. Field Hockey Will Not Be Part of Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.
