India also qualified for the final of the FIH Men’s Hockey5s World Cup which is to be held in 2024. Hockey India also announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for the winning team and Rs 1 lakh for the support staff.

India beat Pakistan on penalties to clinch the inaugural Men’s Hockey 5s Asia Cup 2023 title in Oman on Saturday, September 2. It was a comeback win for India, who trailed Pakistan 3-2 at half-time. Pakistan took the lead through Abdul Rehman in the fifth minute but India struck back with Jugraj Singh scoring two minutes later. India then took the lead in the 10th minute from Maninder Singh but Pakistan staged a fightback, with Abdul Rana and Zikriya Hayat net two quick goals. In the second half, Pakistan increased their lead to 4-2 but Mohammed Raheel struck twice to keep the score 4-4 at full-time. India eventually won 2-0 on penalties.
