Grandmaster Karthikeyan Murali pulled off an amazing achievement as he became the third Indian to beat world champion Magnus Carlsen. Murali defeated the Norwegian with black pieces in the seventh round of the Qatar Masters 2023. Karthikeyan capitalised on an error from Carlsen to clinch the win as he became the second Indian to get the better of the Norwegian in classical chess after Viswanathan Anand.
