GM Aravindh Chithambaram won the Chennai Grand Masters 2024 chess event on Monday, November 11. The 25-year-old defeated Levon Aronian 2-0 in the tie-breaker to win the 'Masters' section of the tournament. Aravindh Chithambaram had earlier ended Arjun Erigaisi's undefeated in the sixth round after having started off the competition with five draws. He also beat Parham Maghsoodloo in the final round. Arjun Erigaisi, part of the gold medal-winning Indian chess team earlier this year, finished third.
