The game started on very even terms with both teams measuring out the strength of each other. Spain opened the scoring after Marc Pubill managed to put one through into the nets. The game opened up in the second half with Uzbekistan showing urgency and they equalised through a penalty which Eldor Shomurodov made no mistake to convert.
