Spain defeated Germany 2-1 in a thrilling UEFA Euro 2024 quarterfinal to advance to the semis on Friday, July 5. After a goalless first-half, Spain's Dani Olmo scored the opening goal of the game in the 51st minute of the match. It seemed that Spain would head towards the semifinals, but Florian Wirtz breathed life into this game as he helped Germany level the score with a brilliant goal in the 89th minute. The match subsequently headed to extra time, with both teams giving their all and taking the lead. Spain regained the lead in the 119th minute when Mikel Merino found the back of the net.
