Russia-Ukraine Crisis: FIFA, UEFA Suspend Russian Clubs and National Teams From All Competitions

This decision by FIFA and UEFA have come after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Earlier, the International Olympic Committee banned all Russian athletes, teams and officials from participating in international events. UEFA also ended their ties with Russian company Gazprom and the latter would no longer be seen as sponsors of UEFA Champions League, UEFA national team competitions and UEFA EURO 2024.

FIFA and UEFA, on Monday, have decided to impose a suspension on all Russian clubs and the national teams of the country from all competitions. The governing body released a statement on this, a part of which read, "Football is fully united here and in full solidarity with all the people affected in Ukraine."
