Germany, the eventual champions thrashed hosts and favourites 7-1 with Toni Kroos scoring two goals and assisting one. Thomas Mueller, Andre Schurrle, Sami Khedira and Miroslav Klose were the other goalscorers for the German side.
On this day in 2014, Brazil were left humiliated and destroyed by a dominant Germany side, who thrashed them 7-1 to reach the finals of the FIFA World Cup.
