Manolo Marquez is set to become the new head coach of the Indian men's football team on a three-year contract. The Spaniard, who has coached in the Indian football arena for quite some now, will, however, coach the Blue Tigers as well as FC Goa, his current club, simultaneously. After his contract with the Indian Super League (ISL) outfit concludes in 2025, Marquez will focus completely on his role with the Indian football team on a full-time basis. Marquez has made a name for himself in Indian football, leading Hyderabad FC to the ISL title in 2022. He will replace Igor Stimac, who was sacked by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) after India had failed to make it past the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers second round. Manolo has contract with FC Goa till May 31, 2025. Post that he will be with the national team on a full time basis.
