Francesco Arcebi broke the deadlock and scored the goal early in the 18th minute of the game followed by another by Marcus Thuram in the 49th minute to give Inter a 2-0 lead. Fikayo Tomori scored a goal in the 80th minute for AC Milan but was not enough. AC Milan received a couple of red cards in the dying moments of the game and the same goes for Inter Milan as they also conceded a red card in the stoppage time. Inter Milan only lost a single game in Serie A 2023-24. Inter are clear in the top spot with 86 points, 17 more than second-placed AC Milan.
