Former Italian footballer Salvatore Schillaci also known as 'Toto' Schillaci passed away at the age of 59 years. The former Italian striker was Italy's top scorer in the 1990 FIFA World Cup. In the 1990 World Cup held in his native country, Schillaci scored six goals to earn the Golden Boot. Among those goals was the one that eliminated Ireland in the quarterfinals. Although Italy was defeated by Argentina in the semifinals, Schillaci was named the tournament's finest player and received the Golden Ball. With 16 caps, the striker netted seven goals for Italy. After starting at Messina, he played club football for Juventus and Inter Milan.
