Karim Benzema scored a double as Real Madrid defeated Espanyol 3-1 to continue their perfect start to this season's La Liga campaign on Monday, August 29. Vinicius Junior opened the scoring in the 12th minute and Joselu struck back for Espanyol before the break. Benzema produced his goals late towards the dying stages of the game when the hosts were also reduced to 10 men after Benjamin Lecomte saw a red card.
