The Dutchman struggled for playing time at Manchester United and hence, a move away from the club, even if it be on loan, was needed for him to revive his career. Earlier, the Merseyside club named Frank Lampard as Rafa Benitez's successor.
Donny van de Beek officially completed his loan move from Manchester United to Everton for the remainder of the season, on transfer deadline day, January 31, 2022. The Dutch midfielder thus becomes the first signing for Everton under the Frank Lampard era.
