The record was previously held by Morroco and Al-Ittihad forward Abderrazak Hamdallah as he scored 34 goals in the 2018-19 season. By scoring a brace CR7 not only equalled but also broke the record for most goals in a single Saudi Pro League season as Ronaldo scored his 35th goal.
