Uruguay rallied from behind to tie 2-2 with Colombia thanks to a stoppage-time penalty from Darwin Nunez, in their CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier match in Barranquilla on Friday. Colombia took the lead thanks to a goal from James Rodriguez, in the 35th minute. Mateo Mathias Olivera's unguarded header gave Uruguay a point barely minutes after the second half started. However in the 52nd minute, Mateus Uribe tucked in Luis Diaz's low cross to give Colombia their lead back. Striker Darwin Nunez calmly converted the penalty after Camilo Vargas was sent off with a second yellow card.
